Carrier Corp. is voluntarily recalling some of its WeatherExpert HVAC units due to potential fire hazards.

Carrier and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that Carrier’s WeatherExpert single-package, light-commercial units, rated from 6 to 23 tons, 48/50 series with a factory-installed dehumidifier, are the subject of the recall. Carrier has received one report of a fan not turning off during installation tests. No injuries have been reported.

The model numbers are 48/50LC07-26. Affected units have an A in the sixth digit and a zero in the 14th digit (48LCTA24F2M5-0S1B3, for example). Dashes count as digits. Impacted serial numbers are 1214P to 3317P. Model and serial numbers are on the rear unit rating plate.

The HVAC units were sold from March 2014 to September 2017. Carrier is providing free replacement and installation of a new electronic control board.
