Discovery Channel’s Richard Rawlings and Pixar’s Matthew Luhn are two of the keynote speakers at this year’s Fabtech, taking place Nov. 6-9 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

This year’s presentations, dubbed “FABx Tech Talks,” will be held during the morning of the event’s first three days and will be delivered in an inspirational, TED Talk style.

“It’s hard to believe that a reality television star and a Pixar storyteller are our keynote speakers this year, but that shows how far our industry has evolved,” said John Catalano, Fabtech show co-manager and SME senior director.

Rawlings, who is the co-host of “Fast N’ Loud” on Discovery Channel and founder of hot-rod shop Gas Monkey Garage, will speak Nov. 7 and discuss his personal business challenges and opportunities as well as the importance of innovating and risk-taking.

Luhn, who is one of the original story creators at Pixar Animation Studios, will speak Nov. 8 on how to create a company culture that encourages new ideas and embraces fear and failing as part of the creative process.

“Their presentations will provide a fresh and entertaining look at what attendees can do to achieve further success in their careers and political lives,” Catalano said.
