The Air Conditioning Contractors of America has put out a series of videos aimed at helping code enforcement officials understand residential HVAC construction.

The three-part “What Code Officials Need to Know about HVAC System Design,” gives an overview of load calculation, equipment selection and duct sizing following the ACCA’s manual J, D, S and other relevant HVAC market documents.

"Code officials and inspectors are under the gun to uphold code requirements, but few resources are available to help them understand the standards that contractors are using," said association President and CEO Paul T. Stalknecht. "These training videos provide the understanding for inspectors to easily ascertain whether the contractors have followed code-specified design criteria."

The videos are online at www.acca.org/standards/codes.
