Today in San Antonio, the International Roofing Expo is holding its fourth annual Community Service Day, where convention attendees and exhibitors give back to area residents in need.

For the event, show organizers are working with the San Antonio chapter of Rebuilding Together, a volunteer group that rehabilitates homes, and the National Roofing Contractors Association’s disaster relief committee.

The event is sponsored by shingle maker Sika Sarnafil. Renovations and repairs will be done on the homes of two area families.

“International Roofing Expo is so pleased to once again partner with Rebuilding Together in the spirit of community service to help renovate the homes of those less fortunate,” said Lindsay Roberts, expo group director. “The renovations made to these houses will make a real difference in the lives of the families.”

The work started at 8:30 a.m. CST and will continue until 4 p.m.

“Rebuilding Together has long represented the American spirit of volunteerism and helping others,” said NRCA Executive Vice President Bill Good. "We are very appreciative of the exhibitor and attendees who have signed up for this terrific event.”
