The Air Conditioning Contractors of America says its annual literacy drive was again a success.

Members donated more than $1,000 and hundreds of books to Clark County (Nev.) READS, part of the Reading is Fundamental program.

“ACCA continues to feel that one of the best ways our attendees can give back to the cities we visit is through the ‘Throw a Book in Your Bag’ campaign,” said Hilary Atkins, ACCA's general counsel and senior vice president of finance and administration. “2012 was another record-breaking year with more book and money donations coming in than ever before.”

The association presented the check to program officials before the start of this week’s convention, which runs through tomorrow at the Paris hotel-casino in Las Vegas.

The ACCA has made similar donations to local literacy programs in its conference host cities for many years.
