Vanessa Winzenburg, a senior consultant with construction experts FMI Corp., will talk about the ways older and younger employees work on projects at a Sept. 27 meeting of the Construction Financial Management Association in Lansing, Mich.

Winzenburg will explain the differences between baby boomers and generation X members in their work ethics and habits, and how contractors can benefit from both.

“All of these issues are critical to attracting, retaining and developing the leadership pipeline of a successful building and construction firm today given the shortage of workers in the industry,” she said.

The advantages of flexible work schedules and job duties will also be explained.
