June 21 was the first official day of summer, and it seems like the days since then have continued to get hotter and hotter. Although I’m grateful for the warmer Michigan weather, I’m finding it a bit difficult to keep from turning the air conditioning on.

The maintenance staff of my office building could actually go a little easier on the AC (my toes are practically frozen at this very moment), but at my home it seems like it’s never quite cool enough… especially upstairs. Whenever the upstairs does have just the right amount of coolness, the downstairs feels like Antarctica. Our house only has one HVAC unit, and my dad thinks it should actually have two – one for the upstairs and one for downstairs.

What do you think? The house is about 3,200 square feet with four bedrooms. Does it need another compressor? Or is the current one just undersized? Share your thoughts below!
