Will 2014 be a good year for the HVAC market? I am starting to wonder that after recently returning from the Heating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International’s annual conference in Phoenix.
HARDI used some of the sessions at its annual conference to take the temp of the HVAC industry as well as forecast where it might be headed for 2014. Alan Beaulieu of ITR Economics and the association’s chief economist, said he thinks things were generally be positive for the industry’s distributors in the next few years, although he said 2014 would likely be a “challenging” year.
Considering that for a lot of companies, the economic growth of the last few years few years has been subpar at best, I was disappointed to hear that. On the positive side, Beaulieu said that after 2014, things should go relatively smoothly before the next recession — hopefully, a mild one — hits.
