Hypertherm has released its 2015 corporate social responsibility report, which measures the progress of its social and environmental goals.

The report covers three different CSR disciplines: community, environment and associate well-being. For 2015, Hypertherm saw an increase in volunteer hours, success engaging more students in STEM fields, the opening of a regional recycling center, and the hosting of Hypertherm’s first supplier sustainability summit, according to the report.

“Last year served as a pivotal year for our initiatives,” said Jenny Levy, vice president of corporate social responsibility for Hypertherm. “Most notably, it marked the halfway point on our path toward our 2020 environmental stewardship goals. In evaluating our journey over the past five years, we’ve learned that although the organization is transformed by this work, continued partnership with our suppliers, customers and community is critical.”

The report shows that 81 percent of Hypertherm employees volunteered in 2015, serving an average of 15.5 volunteer hours in the community. The Hypertherm Owners’ Philanthropic Endeavors Foundation awarded 107 grants that support focus areas, such as health and wellness, food and shelter, and education and the arts, according to the report. The company also reports reaching more than 7,000 students though its support of STEM programs. The company saw a decline in landfill waste from 211 tons in 2010 to 47 tons by the end of 2015, the report states.
