Trade franchise company the Dwyer Group has received an award from an industry magazine.

Dwyer Group was one of 10 winners of the Franchise Times Dealmaker Awards. The award honors companies involved in major mergers and acquisitions.

The Dwyer Group’s purchase of the Five Star Painting franchise was among the activities that led to the award, officials said.

“These dealmakers are smart, relentless and creative in driving capital toward the best companies in franchising,” said Beth Ewen, managing editor of Franchise Times.

The companies were to be profiled in the magazine’s April issue.

“We are honored to be recognized for the incredible growth and success we’ve achieved over the last year,” said Dwyer Group CEO and President Mike Bidwell. “It signals the strength of our industry and the confidence of our investors as we set the stage for significant franchise development across our service brands on both national and international levels.”

Among the Dywer Group’s eight franchise brands is the HVAC contracting brand Aire Serv.
