HVAC market contractors have chance at Ford pickup from Broan-NuTone
Eight contractors from across the country will be heading to Las Vegas this month for the International Builders’ Show, thanks to Broan-NuTone.
The men were the fastest installing the company’s line of Ultra ventilation fans. Each — and a guest — will receive a fully paid trip to Nevada for the Feb. 4-6 show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. There they will compete for the Ultra Pro Challenge’s top prize: a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck.
Broan-NuTone’s 60-stop tour and contest started Aug. 6 in Milwaukee, giving HVAC contractors a chance to experience the company’s new Ultra line, a bathroom fan that installs up to 60 percent faster as a retrofit and 20 percent faster in new construction when compared with other models.
When it ended in Indio, Calif., during November 2013, an estimated 3,000 contractors saw the fan at distributors and 650 took part in the challenge.
“The Ultra Pro Challenge was a fantastic way to introduce this exciting product to contractors in their own backyards,” said Danny Lipford, host of television and radio show “Today’s Homeowner With Danny Lipford.”
“Instead of a typical training session, the challenge gave contractors the chance to improve productivity and profitability while having some fun,” Lipford said. “When I competed in the challenge myself, I was impressed by how quickly the winning contractors installed the fans in a typical retrofit environment.”
Broan-NuTone’s marketing group Vice President Richard Palmersheim said the event was fantastic.
“The Ultra Pro Challenge was a huge success,” Palmersheim said. “We’re confident that Ultra Fans are the ideal solution for residential bathroom ventilation, and we wanted contractors all across the country to experience it firsthand.”
The challenge finalists are:
Burton Morris, Granite City Electric Supply Co., South Yarmouth, Mass.
Jeremy Johnson, F&M Electric Supply Co., Danbury, Conn.
Jared Stork, Springfield Electric Supply, Champaign, Ill.
Dennis Tetzloff, Geary Pacific Supply, Anaheim, Calif.
Ricardo Mercado, CED, Carlsbad, Calif.
Jim Mitchell, Billows Electric Supply Co., Folsom, Pa.
Joe Lareau, Nedco Supply, Las Vegas
Noe Lopez, CES, Santa Barbara, Calif.
“Ultra fans feature the fastest, easiest, most universal installation to save contractors time,” Palmersheim added. “The Ultra Pro Challenge proved the benefits of this product by allowing contractors to perform the easy installation in a fun setting, which the contest format provided.”
Another tour, this one with 120 stops, is planned for this year.
