Butler Manufacturing is touting a recent accomplishment — 2.1 billion square feet of its M-24 standing-seam roof system have been installed worldwide.

The company reached the milestone earlier this year. The company points out that 2.1 billion square feet is enough to cover 259,000 baseball fields or the cities of Lincoln, Neb., Savannah, Ga., and Des Moines, Iowa, combined

Features of the MR-24, which the company bills as the industry’s first standing-seam system, include durability and longevity. It is ideal for retrofits and re-roofing projects, and those where sustainability and energy efficiency are important, officials say.

“This landmark is a testament to the unmatched protection provided by the MR-24 roof system,” said Butler Manufacturing President Tom Gilligan. “Through the expertise of our Butler Builder dealers, the MR-24 roof system has become the most specified standing-seam roof on the market.”
