Metal-Fab Inc. has completed a
37,000-square-foot addition to its Wichita,
Kan., manufacturing facility.
The
addition will house manufacturing and warehouse areas that will be needed to
accommodate the addition and expansion of several product
lines.
This is Metal-Fab’s third plant expansion within the
past 10 years.
“While many manufacturers are struggling to
maintain a steady supply stream, we are taking a proactive approach to the
current market situation by introducing new product lines such as our new
stainless steel flexible-chimney liner systems,” said Metal-Fab President Steve
Hughbanks. “Some of our manufacturing departments have literally doubled, and
that necessitates additional space and some serious investment in new plant
equipment.”
In addition to the new stainless steel flexible
liner, Metal-Fab has recently introduced direct vent and biomass vent, and
expanded their lines of special gas vent, fire and ceiling radiation dampers,
grilles and registers.
“We still see the future of the
hearth and HVAC markets as growing and dynamic,” said Scott Schmelzer,
Metal-Fab director of residential sales. “For years, we’ve made an investment
to diversify our product offerings, yet keep our high level of engineering and
quality intact. In fact, in recent years our Corr/Guard special gas vent and
the continued growth of corrugated stainless steel tubing has allowed us to
actively branch into the plumbing markets as well.”
