WaterFurnace International donated the proceeds
from its 21st annual supplier golf outing to the United Service Organization of
Indiana.
Tom Huntington, WaterFurnace president and CEO,
presented Larry Muncie, president of the USO of Indiana, with a $5,000
check.
“I am both delighted and proud to make this
presentation on behalf of the many WaterFurnace employees and customers whose
generosity is supporting the brave men and women of the USO,” said Huntington.
“This represents the third consecutive year that WaterFurnace has recognized
the important role this organization and its people plays in our national
security.”
Participants in the Nov. 9 golf outing were
encouraged to register online and make a donation to the USO. The outing
included on-course fundraising activities specifically designed to support the
USO.
The money donated will be used to purchase new
computers at the Camp Atterbury Community Center, providing the troops with
Internet access. The USO of Indiana will serve a total of 125,000 troops in
2009.
The USO is a nonprofit organization that has provided
recreational and welfare services to U.S. troops and their families for more
than 60 years. It currently has 130 centers worldwide that provide service men
and women with the comforts of home.
