The Heating, Airconditioning, and Refrigeration
Distributors International will travel to Washington, D.C., next year for its
congressional “fly-in.”
The May 18-19 event will be HARDI’s
third such lobbying effort in partnership with the Air Conditioning Contractors
of America and will be held in conjunction with its Northeast and Mid-Atlantic
regional meeting May 17-18.
“The decision to hold our third
fly-in was an easy one, given the growth in participation and interest we saw
in this year’s fly-in, and the unprecedented number of issues affecting our
members these days,” said HARDI Executive Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer Donald Frendberg.
The 2009 event included 120
meetings with House and Senate members and featured Congresswoman Melissa
Bean’s (D-Ill.) announcement of a bill that would reduce the depreciation
period for HVACR commercial equipment.
2010’s fly-in in
partnership with ACCA will again promote the interests of HVACR wholesale
distributors and contractors on Capitol Hill. HARDI says it is encouraging its
supplier and service vendor members to participate.
