The new Knauf Eclipse air-duct board is the blackest standard air-duct board available on the market, according to the manufacturer. With visibility minimized at venting points, Eclipse allows the air-duct system to be less noticeable to building occupants. The product can be used in commercial and residential air-handling installations as an alternative to sheet metal systems. It is designed for cooling, heating or dual-temperature service where thermal, acoustical and condensation control are required. The product is designed to reduce noise generated by air turbulence and mechanical equipment. It is GreenGuard Institute certified as a low-emitting product for indoor air quality. The duct board has a service temperature up to 250°F. The airstream surface is treated with an EPA registered, anti-microbial agent that prevents growth of mold, fungus or bacteria.
