Hercules Industries has purchased Roswell, N.M.-based Cool Zone Supply. Terms were not disclosed.
With the acquisition of Cool Supply, the HVAC wholesaler and manufacturer will now have 11 branch locations in Arizona, Utah and New Mexico. The new branch will also become the second for Hercules in New Mexico; the other operation was opened in 2004 in Albuquerque.
Hercules Industries President Bill Newland credits the company’s growth to its stocking of many manufactured products in most locations, along with the physical expansion of adding branches in new cities.
“The Cool Zone acquisition is a natural extension of our geographical growth plan,” said Paul Newland, co-owner and sales and marketing director for Hercules.
Earlier this year, Hercules announced the acquisition of the manufacturing assets of Metalwest Specialty Products. In April 2007, the company opened a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution center in Salt Lake City.
“These two additions position the company to be able to supply a broader geographical base when the current housing slump ends,” Newland said.
