The Solcoustic duct liner is a new, non-fibrous insulation product that tackles indoor air quality concerns for HVAC systems. The airstream surface is coated with an immobilized, Environmental Protection Agency-registered preservative that will not support fungi or bacteria growth and the product is formaldehyde-free. In addition, Solcoustic liner is an Underwriters Laboratories-classified product with thermal properties that are comparable to fiberglass at half the weight, the manufacturer says. The company adds that the duct liner is ideal for libraries, medical centers, museums, schools or any facility concerned about protecting its occupants and contents from potentially harmful fibers in their environment.
