John G. “Jack” Cappell of Comfort Controls in Beltsville, Md., was elected president of the National Environmental Balancing Bureau.
Cappell was named president at the 2006 NEBB annual convention Nov. 9-11 at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Palm Springs, Calif.
He started his career as a testing, adjusting and balancing technician for Comfort Controls in 1982. He has been serving as president of the company since 1989. Cappell obtained NEBB-qualified status in 1989. He also has 12 years of building systems commissioning experience.
Cappell has been involved with NEBB as a member of the board of directors since 1998. He has also served on several national bureau committees, including the chapter affairs and the executive finance committees.
At the local level, Cappell has served the NEBB chapter that covers Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C., as technical committee chairman, a member of the board of directors and as president since 1994. He currently serves on the chapter’s technical committee and as treasurer.
Other members of the 2007 NEBB board of directors include: President-Elect Gerald T. Bauers of Sebesta Blomberg in Roseville, Minn.; Vice President John Stevenson of TAB Technologies in Austin, Texas; Treasurer Patrick Reilly of John W. Danforth Co. in Tonawanda, N.Y.; and Immediate Past President Eric Jenison of Total Dynamic Balance in Deerfield, Fla.
