Two new BigEZ dye-injection kits from Spectronics Corp. have been designed to allow technicians to add the precise amount of fluorescent dye into an air-conditioning or refrigeration system. Each kit features the BEZ-50 dye-injector assembly, an air-conditioning hose/coupler with check valve and quarter-inch flare low-loss fitting, one BigEZ dye cartridge and a purge fitting. Both BigEZ kits come in clamshell packages. The BigEZ dye injector requires only one connection to add dye into a system. The dye cartridge is precision calibrated for accurate dosing, which the company says eliminates messy spills or wasted dye. Each four-ounce cartridge contains enough Ar-Glo fluorescent dye to treat up to 16 gallons of lubricant, approximately 400 pounds of refrigerant or 150 tons of cooling.
