KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors - National Associaiton awarded winners of its Skills USA-VICA Championship held June 28 at the Kansas City Convention Center.

Winners in the sheet metal division were (high school level): Gold - Kensey Jacques, Ogden, Utah; Silver - Alejandro Contreras, Tucson, Ariz.; Bronze - Steven Stauffer, Leonardtown, Md. Post secondary level: Gold - Corey Horspool, Ogden, Utah; Silver - Kevin Steen, Bismarck, N.D.; Bronze - Kenneth Price, Augusta, Ga.

There were 27 contestants in the sheet metal division performing such jobs as connecting sheet metal pieces with drive cleats, spot welding and riveting.

Also, PHCC holds its 119th annual convention this month, September 12-16, at the Reno Hilton in Reno, Nev. It includes golf and bowling tournaments on September 12 and an opening reception at the National Automobile Museum. Speakers will present topics such as "How to put best value contracting into action in your local area" and "Contract claims management."
