Semco's duct and acoustical-products division opened its newest manufacturing facility in Roanoke, Va., and celebrated with an open house April 22.
Over 50 representatives were on hand to see the new facility, which boasts 80,000 square feet of manufacturing and stocking space.
The facility is set up to run as two separate plants. One produces manifold and custom ductwork while the other produces and stores product for a newly launched stocking program.
The plant also offers an oven for the application of anti-microbial chemical Avron46 to duct and acoustical products. According to Semco, these anti-microbial products are designed to resist microbial growth in ductwork. The oven itself was constructed from Semco acoustical panels built at the company's Crossville, Tenn., plant.
A training session was presented during the open house to launch MicroStock, a new stocking program offered through company representatives.
The open house wrapped up with a tour of the facility and an installation demonstration, which allowed the representatives to get a hands-on education by installing more than 40 feet of custom product versus the same layout from a stock program.
