MSCA awards first 'Star' certifications

ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Mechanical Service Contractors of America announced that Thermodyne Mechanical Services Inc. of Northbrook, Ill., and John E. Green Co. in Lansing, Mich., are the first two companies to qualify for its Star program.

Contractors designated as a Star-qualified they must uphold a strict code of business ethics, employ the best-trained and most qualified work force, maintain a superior safety record, offer outstanding customer service and focus on continuing education and training for all employees, according to the association.

Thermodyne Mechanical Services is an air conditioning, heating and controls company. The John E. Green Co. was founded in 1909 and is a fourth-generation company with offices throughout Michigan and in Tennessee. The Lansing office performs HVAC service as well as plumbing, controls and building-operations work.
