DUCT PINCHER
November 5, 2004
Made of 16-gauge, smooth-formed galvanized steel, the Klenk duct pincher is rust-resistant and adapts to ductwork gap sizes up to 1-inch wide. One end of the tool has a tapered, Y-shaped opening. The channel formed by this opening draws the ends of the ducts together and pinches the gap closed, creating the best possible alignment for installing the drive cleat, according to the company. Once aligned, the duct pincher's built-in drive guide allows the installer to insert a drive cleat close to the seam.
