Last week’s Fabtech show in Chicago reminded me of 2005. Not in the sheet metal products technology on display — that was certainly 2016.
But the sheet metal forming show was booming, in a way I hadn’t seen in years. I don't have attendance figures yet, but so many booths were sold, organizers had to expand the show floor and even place exhibitors in the hallway connecting the two major display areas at McCormick Place convention center.
Exhibitors I spoke to were uniformly happy, and the show was nice and loud, with plenty of punching, banging and welding on display — just the way organizers like it.
Hopefully, it’s a sign that 2016 will be a good year. What are your predictions for the industry?
