Next week, Snips will make its annual trek to the AHR Expo, the gigantic HVACR equipment show. This year, it heads to Las Vegas for the first time.
I'm excited, as Las Vegas is one of my favorite cities. I was always surprised that the expo had never visited before. The Las Vegas Convention Center is one of the nation's largest, the weather is decent year-round, and flights from almost anywhere are pretty inexpensive. For all those reasons, plus its reputation as an "adult Disneyland," the city is always one of the top U.S. convention locales.
Nevertheless, expo organizers told me they had never visited because the surrounding area does not have much population and the majority of expo visitors drive to the event every year.
It is true that outside of southern Nevada and the communities around Reno, the Silver State is sparsely populated. But considering how many people drive in from Southern California each weekend to gamble and the millions who live there, I don't think it will be a problem.
At this year's snow, Snips will be blogging, tweeting and shooting online videos on the show floor. We hope that visiting Snipsmag.com will be the next-best thing to being in Sin City. So keep checking back to this website and our Twitter page to find out what we're up to. Hope to see some of you there.
