Good news from the latest online Snips poll.
Sometimes, polls can surprise you.
That's probably what Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama thought when the latest polls show him slightly trailing Republican John McCain, and it's what I thought when I looked at the most recent results for this month's online Snips poll.
We asked visitors if the slowing national economy has forced them to lay off workers. A surprising 83 percent so far say it hasn't.
Wow. That's good news. Perhaps it's because I live in Michigan, the state that has led the nation in unemployment for about 3 years, but I thought the layoff numbers would had been much higher.
Of course, online polls are not scientific, but if it means the HVAC and sheet metal industry is surviving this slowdown that well, I think that speaks well for everyone in it.
