The Spiral Duct Manufacturers Association (SPIDA) was formed to promote the use of round duct, spiral duct (spiral pipe) and flat-oval duct through education and research that informs the public of the advantages featured in the various ductwork styles. As part of a feature story for the July 2019 issue of SNIPS magazine, SPIDA members recount how the organization was first formed and why its origins are closely tied to the rise of round ductwork's popularity in the United States.
