A construction company owner from Louisiana is the new president of the National Association of Home Builders.

Randy Noel, the founder of Reve Inc., was named president at the International Builders’ Show earlier this month in Orlando, Florida.

Noel has three decades of experience in the home construction industry. His company has created more than 1,000 custom homes in the New Orleans area, NAHB officials said.

Noel said he and other NAHB members will lobby for laws that will make the housing market stronger.

"This year, we will work with policymakers to reduce burdensome regulations that are holding back a more robust housing recovery and urge Congress to make comprehensive housing finance reform a top priority," he said. "We will also seek to build our membership and assure that NAHB remains the preeminent voice for housing on Capitol Hill."
