Mitsubishi has released a new ceiling cassette indoor unit as part of the company’s City Multi line.

The 3D I-See Sensor is a small component mounted to the exterior panel of the ceiling cassette that continuously analyzes a room’s thermal profile to determine hot or cold spots. It performs hundreds of multiple point circular scans.

“The intelligence of the 3D i-see Sensor ensures that the PLFY ceiling cassette is constantly delivering the best possible comfort experience and energy-saving benefits,” said Kevin Miskewicz, director of commercial marketing with Mitsubishi Electric US Inc. Cooling & Heating Division.

The indoor unit, known as the PLFY-EP-NEMU-E, is available in capacities ranging from 8,000 British thermal units per hour to 48,000 Btuh.
