Taco Comfort Solutions has released the free, interactive Building Efficiency System Tool (BEST). This tool brings efficiency ratings and data together to compare the performance, life cycles and costs for any type of HVAC system early in the design process, company officials say. This tool takes certified Air Conditioning Heating and Refrigeration Institute data, including unit efficiency ratios, performance data, component performance curves, and pipe or duct system requirements with “as applied” correction factors. BEST combines the laboratory test data and HVAC system performance to include install and utility costs against load and weather, officials add.
