Thousands of Emcor Group Inc. employees will celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October by donning pink hardhats.

As part of the ninth annual event, workers from the mechanical HVAC construction company were to form human pink ribbons at locations in California, Arizona and Delaware. Thousands of Emcor employees have committed to wearing the specially painted hardhats at Emcor work sites nationwide, officials said.

“This is Emcor’s ninth consecutive year of spearheading the national pink hardhat initiative. Over the years people have come forward to say they believe this unique way of raising awareness of the importance of breast cancer screening has had a positive impact on their own lives or that of a loved one,” said Tony Guzzi, Emcor’s president and CEO. “Many of our employees wear hardhats on a daily basis for personal protection, and we’re proud of their commitment to wear an Emcor pink hardhat in October to raise awareness of breast cancer and remind women and men to get screened.”
