Goodman is offering homeowners hit by hurricanes Irma and Harvey discounts on new HVAC equipment.

Under its “Operation Returning Comfort” program, homeowners will be eligible for what Goodman calls “substantial” discounts on new air conditioners and furnaces. The special prices are designed to be passed on directly by dealers to affected homeowners and the company will make random checks to ensure they receive the full discount, officials said. The installation must also be confirmed by dealers.

Jeff Underwood, vice president of marketing for Goodman Manufacturing Co., said the HVAC sales firm has a special connection to the region.

“Operation Returning Comfort began as a way to help support the flooded communities of coastal Texas and Houston, the city where Goodman began 35 years ago and is still our home,” Underwood said. “Goodman and its employees, friends and community experienced the devastation from Harvey, and our hearts go out to those suffering from this disaster. After Hurricane Irma slammed into central and south Florida, a quick decision was made to extend the relief program.

“Many Goodman employees and dealers live in areas hit by these massive storms and they, too, have experienced flooding and other problems,” Underwood added. “Operation Returning Comfort is just one small way that the company can work together with independent dealers to help. We understand that a large number of homeowners will be faced with large, unplanned expenses as they recover from the aftermath of Harvey and Irma.”
