Retired Army soldier turned motivational speaker, actor and author J.R. Martinez will speak at Service World Expo, a HVAC-plumbing trade show in Las Vegas.

Martinez, an Iraq war veteran who suffered burns to 34 percent of his body, will talk about finding the super powers inside yourself. He will appear at 4 p.m. Sept. 8.

Liz Patrick, Service World’s vice president of strategic alliances, said she expects attendees to be moved by his story.

“J.R.’s story is truly remarkable,” she said. “I can’t wait to see how his message of resilience and optimism will inspire and motivate our audience.”

Since his accident, Martinez has appeared on “Dancing with the Stars” — winning season No. 13 — and he has acted on the daytime soap opera “All My Children.” He has also been a guest on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Ellen.”

“This is a must-see presentation,” said David Heimer, Service World’s COO. “Moving, inspiring, it will leave you speechless.”

Service World Expo is scheduled for Sept. 7-8 at Mandalay Bay convention center in Las Vegas. Details are at www.ServiceWorldExpo.com or by calling (844) 742-3970.

Service World Expo is affiliated with BNP Media, Snips’ parent company.
