Dynamic Air Quality Solutions is partnering with the COPD Foundation to raise awareness about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease — the third leading cause of death in the United States, according to the American Lung Association.

Nearly 30 million people in North America are living with the disease, with an estimated 14 million people living with COPD who are undiagnosed, officials say. For the HVAC industry, indoor air quality is a major issue that companies like Dynamic have worked toward improving over the years.

Through the partnership, Dynamic plans to educate friends and clients about COPD — an umbrella term used to describe progressive lung diseases, such as emphysema, chronic bronchitis and refractory asthma — and encourage people to get screened and tested when appropriate. The company will begin adding information about the disease on its website, in its newsletters and as part of its messaging during training events, industry gatherings and trade shows.

“We’re proud to take this proactive stance to help the COPD Foundation provide help and hope to families living with COPD,” said Dynamic Air marketing Vice President Rob Goodfellow. “Together, we can take action today, so more people will be able to breathe better tomorrow. Dynamic continues to provide air-cleaning solutions to industry clients who pride themselves on their ability to offer the right solutions to meet air-quality challenges of today and tomorrow.”
