Sessions on communication, profits, getting women interested in the industry and legal issues are among the topics scheduled for the 2017 International Roofing Expo.

The annual conference and trade show will take place March 1-3 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

The keynote speaker will be retired Air Force Lt. Col. Rob “Waldo” Waldman, who will appear at 10 a.m. March 1.

“His compelling stories about overcoming adversity, earning trust, and breaking performance barriers are heartfelt and will inspire you and your team to reach new heights both personally and professionally,” said expo show director Tracy Garcia.

Waldman is expected to explain how to create a company culture that has integrity, trust and courage.

“Waldman overcame a lifelong battle with claustrophobia and a fear of heights to become a combat-decorated U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and successful entrepreneur,” said Bill Good, CEO of the National Roofing Contractors Association, the show’s official sponsor. “His fascinating and powerful message will provide an uplifting opening act to the 2017 IRE.”

In addition to the educational sessions and Waldman’s speech, a large trade show with exhibitors involved in metal roofing, sheet metal forming and other facets of the industry will be held. The 2016 show in Orlando, Florida, attracted almost 9,500 attendees and had 1,200 booths.
