The Champion brand of Johnson Controls has introduced its 16 SEER LX Series PCG6 residential package equipment. The Energy Star-qualified units cut energy costs by up to 38 percent compared with older 10-SEER units, and gas heating models offer 81 percent annual fuel utilization efficiency, officials said. The units also have easy-to-install features and a service-friendly design, such as bottom or side utility connections; slide-out, tin-coated evaporators; field conversion for horizontal or down-flow air applications; and removable front, top and side panels for access to refrigeration and heat compartments.
