Emerson celebrated the opening of another Helix Innovation Center at Atlanta’s Georgia Institute of Technology in September.
This additional site expands the company’s global collaboration and innovation facilities, including the original Helix Innovation Center at the University of Dayton in Ohio, The European Solution Center in Germany and The Emerson Innovation Centre in India. The Georgia Tech location will focus on Emerson’s development and collaboration on big data and the internet of things.
“Our investment in this collaboration and innovation space is a key part of our strategy to build relationships with academics, students, technology leaders and entrepreneurs,” said Mark Dunson, Emerson’s group vice president of electronics and solutions.
The nearly 1,600-square-foot facility at Georgia Tech, located within the Centergy One Building in the city’s Technology Square, will work in collaboration with the innovation center at the University of Dayton, which opened in April and focuses on HVAC and refrigeration markets.
The Georgia Tech location will explore solutions to customer problems through internal and customer ideation sessions, community and student engagements like “hack-a-thons” and prototype creation for product development.
