Fabtech organizers are encouraging attendees to take part in a 5K run to support training programs that benefit the manufacturing industry.

The Run4Mfg 5K will take place Nov. 18, before the start of the last day of the sheet metal forming and fabricating trade show, which will take place Nov. 16-18 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The run/walk will benefit the educational foundations and scholarship programs operated by the American Welding Society, the Fabricators and Manufacturers Association International, SME, the Precision Metalforming Association and the Chemical Coaters Association International.

“The Run4Mfg 5K is another example of our support for the metal fabricating industry,” said John Catalano, SME’s Fabtech senior director “It’s incredibly important to us to foster a learning environment at Fabtech and reinvest in the people who make manufacturing innovations possible. Our trades need highly skilled labor more than ever. TheRun4Mfg 5K helps us bring attention to that in a fun and healthy way.”

The event will start at Town Square Las Vegas, an open-air mall at the far south end of the Las Vegas Strip.
