Thursday is the deadline to submit a nominee for the Metal Construction Association’s Triumph Awards.

The annual prize recognizes people and companies who promote the use of metal in construction. Categories include Salesperson of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Corporate Citizen of the Year, Journalist of the Year, Young Movers and Shakers (given to those under 35), and Industry Champion of the Year.

Nominations will be judged by a 10-member committee that includes representatives of the Metal Construction Association, the Metal Building Manufacturers Association, the Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association and the National Frame Building Association.

Winners will be recognized Oct. 26 during Metalcon in Baltimore.

Keith Lipps, vice president of marketing and sales from meal roofing accessory maker S-5, said he came up with the idea for the awards because industry workers need recognition.

“So many people do great things every day at various levels in their career using many different skill sets, and it’s their achievements that make this industry thrive,” said Lipps. “We want to celebrate these contributions with a premier award because it’s everyone working together that makes us strong.”
