The Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute is reshuffling one of its product sections.

The HVAC market equipment manufacturers group announced today that its controls product section will split into the air-conditioning and refrigeration electronic controls section and gas controls section.

The ACR electronic controls section will cover controllers and auxiliary control devices. The gas controls section will include components and accessories for use on gas-fired utilization equipment.

The prior arrangement dates back to when the Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute and the Gas Appliance Manufacturers Association merged to form AHRI in 2008.

“We constantly strive to meet the needs and interests of our members in the best way possible," said AHRI President and CEO Stephen Yurek. "These new product sections will better represent all control equipment and give a voice to more manufacturers within our industry."
