Esab Welding and Cutting Products has released version 1.3 of its Columbus CAD/CAM nesting software, which is optimized for plasma, oxy-fuel, laser and waterjet cutting. The most powerful function of the software is the new Job Wizard, company officials say, which automatically creates programs from customer orders. The Columbus version 1.3 features an optimimum user interface, a zoom overlay window that shows details without zooming the complete layout, visual control for users to detect parts on a table grid which will tilt after cut, commands that improve cut quality and production time.
