HVAC market contractor U.S. Air Conditioning & Heating has been given an award by Fresh Air UV celebrating a decade of selling the ultraviolet IAQ company’s products.

Jeff Alloway and Alfred Cox, the directors of the New Port Richey, Florida-based company, received the award from Fresh-Aire Sept 2. It was presented by Chad House of Fresh-Aire UV’s manufacturer representative McAllister Associates of Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Alloway and Cox say more than 30 percent of its residential HVAC sales customers have purchased ultraviolet technology from Fresh Air.

It wasn’t such as easy sale years ago, Alloway said. Many ultraviolet systems were designed for the furnace market, and they tried to treat the air, which didn’t always work. The HVAC construction systems designed for air handlers and coils had lamp and power issues as well as being difficult to install.

Fresh-Aire’s product was different, he said, and having the product in the homes of their sales staff made it easier to sell.

“If a product isn’t good enough for our own personal homes, we don’t want it,” he said.

A generous warranty helps, he added.

“Most manufacturers make you jump through hoops to honor a product warranty, whereas Fresh-Aire UV is by far the easiest company to work with on the planet for product guarantees,” Alloway said.
