Emcor gave $100,000 to a New Jersey medical center as part of the HVAC construction company’s seventh annual event to promote breast cancer awareness.

Officials with Emcor Group and its HVAC market subsidiary F&G Mechanical gave the check Wednesday to officials with John Theurer Cancer Center Breast Oncology Division at Hackensack University Medical Center.

As part of the event, more than 400 employees wore pink hardhats and formed a human pink “ribbon” to encourage women to get screened for the disease at the Hudson Lights development in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

"We’re delighted to be participating in Emcor’s seventh annual consecutive year of conducting this national initiative," said Sal Fichera, CEO at F&G Mechanical. "We’re proud of our employees’ commitment to wear an Emcor pink hardhat throughout October to raise awareness for breast cancer and the importance of screening. As a company that has built its reputation on being engaged in the concerns of our industry and community, it's gratifying to demonstrate support for breast cancer screening and awareness, standing with our employees, client, and partners."
