Contractors involved in metal roofing work attending next month’s Metalcon are encouraged to take part in a two-day “boot camp” sponsored by the Metal Roofing Alliance.

Attendees will learn the MRA’s tips for selling residential metal roofing through role playing, discussions and presentations. The classes will take place Oct. 14-15 in Tampa, Florida.

Metalcon will be held Oct. 14-16 at the Tampa Convention Center.

Speaking at the event will be Frank Farmer, owner of Michigan-based American Metal Roofing. Farmer is expected to discuss how he was able to grow a successful company while Micghigan suffered through its worst recession in decades.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for contractors,” said MRA Executive Director Bill Hippard. “Frank Farmer is a fantastic salesman and presenter. He believes the key to his success is a systemized step-by-step selling approach, which is followed throughout his company. His approach features superior products and installation service. Frank will be teaching an in-home selling system which follows the guidelines of the MRA system developed in conjunction with Dave Yoho and Associates which is available to all MRA member manufacturers and contractors.”
