A former Harley-Davidson vice president will appear at next month’s Metalcon in Tampa, Florida, organizers announced.

Clyde Fessler will give the keynote address Oct. 14 at the sheet metal forming trade show, which will take place Oct. 14-16 at the Tampa Convention Center.

Fessler was among the executives who brought the motorcycle maker back from near bankruptcy. He is expected to speak about how you can succeed despite competition.

“We’re thrilled to have Clyde Fessler at Metalcon,” said show director Claire Kilcoyne. “He has an amazing story to tell and his forward thinking philosophies fit perfectly with companies involved in our event. Since Metalcon began in 1991, we have seen a continuous stream of product innovation and manufacturing development at this event. And the industry experts in the full conference program will add ideas about business development and field techniques to complete the cycle of knowledge.”

Metalcon will feature a large trade show with sheet metal forming and ductwork fabrication machinery. It also will offer a number of educational sessions geared to metal roofing contractors, including “Understanding Metal Roofing,” “The Devil is in the Details,” “Successful Flashings for Standing-Seam Roofs,” “Change Your Business Strategy to include Retrofit Metal Roofing” and “12 Easy Steps to Closing More Sales of Residential Metal Roofing.”
