Next year’s National HVACR Educators and Trainers Conference has been endorsed by another group.

The HVAC market group the Council of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Educators will hold its 2016 meeting during the event.

The Esco Group-sponsored HVAC sales event will take place March 21-23, 2016, in Las Vegas.

Organizers say an education in HVAC construction is the best way to combat the HVAC market’s looming worker shortage. Some estimates say up to 65 percent of industry workers are expected to retire in the next decade.

"A collaboration of efforts across various organizations for the purpose of strengthening our industry, and more importantly our educators and the education process is something that is needed more now than ever," said CARE President Kevin Couch.

Renee Tomlinson, director of strategic partnerships at ESCO Group, said they welcomed the council to their event.

"The success of everyone in the industry is tied to having successful HVACR programs at high schools, community colleges, trade schools, apprenticeship programs, etc., and it will be through industry partnerships and working together toward common goals that we can move this industry forward with strength and vigor,” she said. “We hope others will join us in supporting professional development of the educators and trainers we all depend on to make this industry stronger."
