HVAC market gas warm-air furnace shipments decreased 0.4 percent in April to 182,201 units, according to an HVAC construction industry trade group.

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute said that was a decline from the 182,884 units shipped a year earlier.

Oil-using HVAC market furnace shipments increased 9.8 percent to 1,934 units, up from the April 2014 figure of 1,762.

Year-to-date U.S. shipments of gas warm-air HVAC construction furnaces decreased 0.3 percent, to 780,688 units. Year-to-date oil warm-air furnaces increased 12.4 percent to 10,508. The AHRI said 9,347 units shipped during the same period in 2014.
