A Maryland-based company has been picked as ACCA’s Residential Contractor of the Year.
GAC Services of Gaithersburg, Md., was named the top residential HVAC market company by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America.
“Each year many of the best residential contractors in the industry apply for this award, and share the unique business practices that make them so successful,” said ACCA President and CEO Paul T. Stalknecht. “It is always a difficult decision for our panel of judges to choose who they consider the ‘best of the best’ from the group. This year’s winner, GAC Services, is an extremely deserving company that truly exemplifies the qualities that all of the best companies in the industry share.”
Three owners took over the company in 2007 and have quadrupled its size, sales and profits, the association said.
“Being named ACCA’s 2015 Contractor of the Year is a huge honor, as it truly is a reflection of the efforts of our entire team,” said GAC President Tony Petrolle?. “As managers, we have spent a great deal of time planning and executing our vision for GAC, and we have spent countless hours building processes that make us as efficient as possible at providing outstanding customer service. But the real award belongs to the 70-plus team members at GAC that make it happen every day. I am proud to represent our team simply because they really do care about our customers. They are what differentiates GAC from our competitors and makes us such a great company, and they truly deserve this recognition by ACCA.”
Bill Wetzel, vice president of GAC Services, said the company’s employees were responsible for the HVAC construction company winning the award.
“Being recognized by ACCA as the Contractor of the Year is a credit to the commitment to excellence day in and day out by all those that make up our GAC team,” he said. “All the extra effort put forth to do things the right way, it just reinforces that the hard work is worth it. We truly love what we do every day. So to be recognized as the best at what you do, given that you are simply doing something you really enjoy, is a great reward.”
Rich Biava, another company vice president, said he was honored to receive the prize.
“We always felt like we had an opportunity to create something great together, we are not done by any means, but it is very rewarding to be recognized by our industry as the best,” Biava said?. “We believed in our opportunity and were passionate about building our business and delivering comfort to our customers.”
Company officials were to receive the award March 16 during the ACCA’s annual convention.
