The Air Movement and Control Association International is looking for members to serve on a standard-writing committee dealing with fan-efficiency ratios.

The measurement is a ratio comparing actual fan efficiency to baseline fan efficiency at a given airflow and pressure point. This new AMCA HVAC market standard will introduce “FER” as an energy-efficiency metric for fans designed to encourage use in codes and promote energy savings through rebates rate programs and federal regulations.

Most committee meetings will take place online, officials said. Visit http://tinyurl.com/FER-Standard-Committee for information.
